Vendor Spotlight: Mick Klug Farm

This month, we’re celebrating our beloved fruit vendors—and no one does it quite like Mick Klug Farm, a third-generation family farm rooted in legacy and local love. Founded in the 1930s by Edward and Clara Klug, this family-run operation located in St. Joseph, Michigan has been serving Chicago’s farmers markets for over 45 years.

From juicy peaches, cherries, and blueberries to sweet strawberries, raspberries, apricots, and even delicate zucchini blossoms, Mick Klug Farm brings the very best of the season straight to our market. They also offer jams, frozen fruits, apple cider, and more—all grown and crafted with care.

“We believe shopping at farmers markets is the best way to support a local food system,” says current owner Abby Klug. “Food grown close to where you live tastes better, is healthier, and keeps our communities strong.”

Their favorite thing about the 61st Street Farmers Market? “The customers! They are the most patient, friendly, and supportive customer base we have.”

Catch Mick Klug Farm every Saturday this season and experience why they’ve been voted Chicago Reader’s Best Local Farm five years in a row!

“What's in season?” is a question we hear often at the Market.
