Savor the Midsummer Abundance at the Market!
Soaring temperatures, punishing humidity, air quality alerts, beach days, and a bounty of fresh, local produce: it must be July in Chicago! Farmers all across the region are harvesting their mid-summer produce, preparing their fall crops, and coping with the weather as best as they can (aren’t we all?!).
We hope you’ve been staying safe and cool, but that you’ll join us this weekend at the market (with much improved air quality) to celebrate summer produce and the hardworking farmers and producers who nourish our community.
What’s in season in mid-July? A lot! At this most abundant time of year, come to the market early to get fresh peaches, tomatoes, blueberries, red raspberries, black raspberries, cherries, cucumbers, peppers, pickles, sweet corn, carrots, radishes, celery, zucchini, summer squash, beets, potatoes, broccoli, kale, collards, kohlrabi, cabbage, basil, dill, mint, and so much more!
