Pasture-Raised Proteins with a Purpose

This week, we’re proud to highlight Bennett Farms, a small but mighty family farm delivering high-quality meats with exceptional flavor and care. Founded by farmer Tom Bennett, a U.S. Marine veteran, the farm began in 2012 out of a desire to feed his growing family real, quality food. What started as a personal mission quickly grew into a community movement as demand from friends and neighbors took root.

All of Bennett Farms’ animals are pasture-raised, non-GMO, antibiotic-free, and raised in a low-stress environment that prioritizes animal welfare and food integrity. With home delivery, weekly subscriptions, and regular market appearances across the Midwest, they’re on a mission to bring responsibly raised proteins to more households at a fair price.

At 61st Street Farmers Market, they’re beloved for their delicious cuts of beef, chicken, and pork, and their most popular items include bacon, eggs, and butter. If you’re looking for a recipe recommendation, try Tom’s favorite: Pineapple Teriyaki Brats fried in ghee—ready in 15 minutes and packed with flavor!

Bennett Farms has been recognized with awards such as Conservation Farm of the Year and featured in outlets like The Wall Street Journal, Acres USA, and more—but their heart remains with the community. As Tom says, “Our customers mean the world to us. We're always working to offer more, connect deeper, and say thank you in every way we can.”
