Vendor Spotlight: Black Taco at the 61st Street Farmers Market

We’re thrilled to welcome back Black Taco to the 61st Street Farmers Market this season! After taking a break last year, they’re back—and ready to feed the Woodlawn community once again.

The long lines at their stand over the past two weekends say it all: Black Taco brings unbeatable flavor, quality, and heart to the Market. What began as a bonding project between mother and daughter has grown into one of the South Side’s most beloved food spots.

Founded by Twyla and Bailey Estell, Black Taco is all about handcrafted tacos made with farm-fresh ingredients, house-made salsas, and a commitment to quality, sustainability, and community.

“We started this as a way to share our favorite food,” says Bailey Estell, “but it’s really about bringing people together. Feeding the community is an act of love.”

Though the menu will change throughout the season, you will find a crave-worthy lineup of favorites, including:

🌮 Tacos (Steak, Chicken, Mixed Vegetables)

🥣 Chilaquiles (Steak, Chicken, Mixed Vegetables, Plain)

🌽 Elote, 🥑 Guacamole, 🧂 Salsa, and 🍋 Limeade

While they serve up traditional flavors with a twist, Bailey shares one insider tip: “Our go-to recipe for the season is Black Taco’s guacamole. There’s a secret ingredient—shhh!”

So come hungry and treat yourself to Black Taco’s weekly specials. You’ll leave full, happy, and more connected to the community around you.
