Mint Creek Farm: Raising grass-fed meats on certified organic prairie pastures since 1992
61st Street Market shoppers know when they want to buy quality, organic meat, Mint Creek Farm always delivers. They’ve been bringing delicious organic grass-fed beef, boar, goat, lamb, poultry, eggs, honey, and more to the Market since 2008.
“The difference between Mint Creek Farm and supermarket beef from a feedlot is night and day. Harry Carr seems to be single-handedly restoring and rebuilding the mineral rich topsoils that once dominated the midwest.”
—JANINE FARZIN, A CUSTOMER
Since 1992, Harry and Gwen Carr and their team have continued to offer some of the tastiest, healthiest meats around from their 220 Certified-Organic acres near Stelle, IL. Now their daughter, Raya, runs the farm and continues to build on their foundation.
Mint Creek stands out for its dedication to a holistic farming approach that provides its heritage breed animals with Certified-Organic pastures, protects native plants and birds, and stewards the farm’s ecosystem to ensure soil and air health. Their rotational grazing practices help absorb carbon dioxide and combat climate change.
In addition to the quality beef, pork, and chicken that market shoppers have come to love, Mint Creek has a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program that gives members access to their incredible selections at a discount and supports the farm’s humane, environmentally-conscious work.
