Our last movie night of the year celebrates local filmmakers and films that highlight marginalized voices. Join Common Threads for an evening of short films and a chance to meet the artists behind them. 💚
We Are Two, a film by Chicago-based documentary filmmaker and DP @cai_fyiis. Cai tells vérité stories about Black youth and elders at the intersections of place, self-determination, and identity.
The Scorekeeper by Eve Wright, a Chicago-based writer, director, producer, and comedian whose work explores vulnerable, timely stories through a surreal and absurdist lens.
The Scorekeeper follows a young woman on the eve of a first date as she’s stalked by a supernatural, AV-cart-hauling interloper intent on forcing her to relive a traumatic past. The film premiered at the historic Music Box Theatre and has screened at festivals including XL Fest, Detroit Black Film Festival, and Black Harvest Film Festival.
