"Body and Sound" is a panel discussion presented by The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago and the Experimental Station. The event will take place on Monday, January 29, at 6:30pm at the Experimental Station, 6100 S. Blackstone Avenue."Body and Sound," investigates the intricacies/awareness embodied in experimenting within dance choreography and music composition and the interrelationships in "awakening the senses" from minimal sounds and movements to more explosive gestures.Panelists include Japanese choreographer Jo Kanamori, director of the Japanese company Noism07, making their Midwest debut at The Dance Center February 1-3; Chicago choreographer and Dance Center faculty member Carrie Hanson, artistic director of The Seldoms; independent musician, composer and producer Michael Zerang; and Rei Hotada, assistant conductor of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and artistic executive director of the Shin Higuchi Institute in Chicago. Moderating the panel is Lou Mallozzi, founding member and executive director of the Experimental Sound Studio.
