Festival of Democracy at the Experimental Station
Join The Public Square at the Illinois Humanities Council, the Experimental Station, and other co-sponsors and partners for the Festival of Democracy: Unleashing Radical Imagination. This full-day series of talks and conversations will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 1pm-9pm at the Experimental Station. Join us for this gathering of activists, scholars, artists, and all those who are interested in collectively imagining and grappling with issues of human rights, political power, and struggles for social justice. We will celebrate the power of the creative process to transform lives, community and society. This celebration will feature performances from Idris Goodwin and Ugochi, and will be emceed by Kevin Coval, Artistic Director of Young Chicago Authors and Co-founder of the Chicago Teen Poetry Festival: Louder than a Bomb.
