The Chicago Southside's premier farmers market, straddling the Hyde Park and Woodlawn neighborhoods, offering the freshest produce, meat, eggs, cheeses and prepared foods from local and regional farms. This year's lineup includes Ellis Family Farms, Organic Bread of Heaven, Growing Power, Faith's Farm, Mint Creek Farm, Lucky Duck Farm, Stamper Cheese, A10 Homemade Pastas, Sauce & Bread Kitchen, Growing Power, The Urban Canopy, SenTEAmental Moods Teas, Bot Gluten Free Vegan Bakery, and many more.
Our market also features chef demos, live music and the "Market School" series - where a weekly expert shares knowledge about food and sustainability. There's something for the whole family here! As you become a fan of the 61st St. Farmers Market, please consider following our facebook page or for updates and announcements.
In November and December of 2015, and January through April of 2016, the Market goes indoors at the Experimental Station. Entry is on Blackstone Avenue.
The 61st Street Farmers Market accepts LINK and Senior Farmers Market Coupons. We also match LINK purchases up to $25 per cardholder, per market day, as long as funding lasts. This means that LINK cardholders can double the value of their LINK purchases each week at the Market.
Our farmers only bring you the freshest produce, so it is good to know what is in season. Here is a Seasonality Chart of what to expect in northern Illinois.
The market thrives with the support of a group of dedicated volunteers. Please consider volunteering for one of several roles that can accommodate a range of physical abilities. Learn more on our Volunteer Page.
If you value our efforts to improve food access in Woodlawn and support local farmers and small food businesses, please consider giving a tax-deductible donation to Experimental Station today. Online payments accepted via major credit card and PayPal. For more donation options and information, check here.
