Looking for some lucrative temporary work? The U.S. Census is looking to hire people for positions paying anywhere from $13.75 to $21.25 an hour - all you have to do is pass a basic skills test. A Census Bureau FAQ says these skills include reading, following written instructions, basic math, and map reading (that same FAQ includes a link to a practice test, in Adobe PDF format). They'll be administering this test at the Experimental Station on Saturday, March 27th, starting at 10 AM.
The Experimental Station is very pleased to invite you to join us on Friday, April 2, at 8pm for THE PEOPLE SPEAK, a film narrated by the late Howard Zinn—acclaimed author, historian, and political scientist, who died this past January. The film is sponsored by the International Socialist Organization. Suggested donation for THE PEOPLE SPEAK: $6; Solidarity $10. The event is handicapped accessible.
