A Blackstone Bike
At Blackstone Bicycle Works, we believe cycling advocacy can only follow cycling success. At our shop, we sell all kinds of bikes—racing, touring, town, mountain, hybrid and specialty—but more specifically, we sell only safe bikes that work. The parts on one of our refurbished products could be original, salvaged from a similar different bike or installed from a box of corporate donations. Whatever the case, the final product is thoroughly inspected to ensure what rolls out the door is compatible and well-assembled.
Due to the nature of the business, all used bikes are sold ‘as is’ and all sales are final. However, in the event that a part goes faulty within 30 days, we will replace it at no cost. This doesn’t happen often, as most of what has lasted this long was built to last longer. In fact, customer satisfaction on our used bicycles often exceeds that of their fresh-from-the-factory counterparts.
As a sustainable organization, we see beyond mere profits to the economic and cultural bottom lines. Selling transportation that South Siders can afford is more important to us than just selling bikes. Higher end models could run higher, but most of what we deal falls in the price range of $75-200. As a result of high seasonal demand, we advise people shopping for bikes during the summer months to check our supply earlier in the week.
