Mission

Blackstone Bicycle Works is a youth education program of the Experimental Station. In the context of a full-service bike shop dedicated to promoting ecological practices and empowering youth, Blackstone teaches mechanical skills, job skills, and business literacy to boys and girls from the underserved Woodlawn neighborhood and Chicago's broader south side.

Retail Services

Shop Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 1pm - 5pm

• Refurbished Bicycles (various styles, in the range $90-$300)
• Accessories: Helmets, Locks, Pumps, Lights, etc. (see pricelist)
• New Bike Parts (We can also special order for you.)
• Quality Used Parts (for DIY projects)

Youth Education

Blackstone Bicycle Works Youth Education Program is open to all youth age 9-16, and is free of charge. During the CPS School Year, the program runs Tues-Fri, 3pm-5pm and Saturday 10am-1pm. During the Summer, it runs Tues-Sat 9:30am-4pm. Youth and their guardians must complete the registration forms before participating.
